The NAPOVC project aimed at improving the quality of life and creating a protective environment for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) under the care of older persons (Ops) in the targeted area.
The project seek to improve the skills and quality of care for OVC by older persons. The project activities were designed to empower the community economically and psychologically and to be self-reliant. Broadly the project aimed to provide among others livelihood support, psychosocial support, food security and HIV and AIDS awareness to OVCs under the care of Ops.
The project will did not only provide a platform to collect information on the impact of HIV and AIDS on both older persons and Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) but also created opportunities for advocacy on the development of local and national frameworks on the improvements of the quality of life of OVC under the care of older persons.
